How much steel do you need?
Weight (kg) = kg per metre × length per bar × number of bars. For example, 200 bars of 12 mm at 12 m weigh 0.888 × 12 × 200 = 2,131 kg (2.13 t).
Estimates only; allow for laps and wastage.
Quick reference: tonnes per 100 bars (12 m)
- 8 mm : 0.47 t
- 10 mm : 0.74 t
- 12 mm : 1.07 t
- 16 mm : 1.90 t
- 20 mm : 2.96 t
- 25 mm : 4.63 t
- 32 mm : 7.58 t
